Lyrics

Once Before

Here am I not equal to the will I might have had
Had I not have seen in you the place where I began
As helpless as the day you were born like soul in the schoolyard
Where everything that’s to become has happened once before

Some will say that time is like a wheel
Turning around and around
Tomorrow it’s all surreal
When time is a straight line against your will
Never again to be found never again to feel

And you build your life on the graves of the forgotten
Justified by the things that they might have done
And a thousand years will pass by like one moment and turn this wood to stone
And everything that ever was has happened once before

And the soul, it lives through the body
it lives on tomorrow, it lives on today

And here am I not equal to the will I might have had
Had I not have seen in you the place where I began

My Station

When you’re out there where that highway ends
When the meaning’s gone and the truth begins
You can learn some things from the messages
From the ones that came before you
And you can close your eyes while you’re listening
You can hear the sky while the birds sing
And you can lose yourself in your memories
From the way it was before

So I’m leaving, my station
For a chance to be happy, because here I’m fading

You can numb yourself when your hearts afraid
And you can wear the pain like a masquerade
And you can learn some things from the face you save
Well I guess they’ll never know you
And you can lose the taste for your own success
Or you can smell the roses that compliment
Or you can learn to trust in your own sixth sense
Well I guess you’ve always known it

So I’m leaving, my station
For a chance to be happy, because here I’m fading
Into the distance

You can close your eyes while you’re listening
You hear the sky while the birds sing
Or you can lose yourself in your memories
From the way it was before

So I’m leaving, my station
For a chance to be happy, because here I’m fading
Into the distance

Human Wheel

Spinning in my head my thoughts like planets
Some alive and some are dead and some the light ain’t reached me yet
And digging in my heart my bloods like dirt some is red some is hard
and some has turned to mud for you

Now I’m part of that human wheel and it turns my fait
Now I’m part of that human wheel hope it turns my way

And somewhere in that house the past it lives and breathes without me
As if it somehow lives without me there
And somewhere down that block where trouble wins it always comes around to talk again
Now trouble always seems to start without me there

Now I’m part of that human wheel and it turns my fait
Now I’m part of that human wheel hope it turns my way

And waiting in this place my patience learns to move beyond the myth of luck
Well maybe it’s just luck to you
And somewhere in the end my soul it learns to move beyond the myth of life,
Well is it just this life to you

To Dream of Another Life

The dreams that will come to you when you’re wide open
To let them into your mind happens more often times
Not while you’re waiting no not while you’re waiting for anything
And we’ve all got a story of some happy ending
Like the man who lived next to the man who lost everything
And outside these games we play does losing or winning mean anything

And the sun shines today
And God is in the garden
As I lie awake and dream of another life

Back in 1718 I lost all my hope then I was drowned in this river and brought back to life again
For all I know now I will die on the day I find hope again
Because the devil here worships just one man’s religion with a shadow cast over the light that may reach him
you show me an angel and I’ll show you a devil that follows him

And the sun shines today
And God is in the garden
As I lie awake and dream of another life

And above the door I found keys that were left behind
To hold back the fear that I lock myself in behind
And outside this room I will find some new fear I can hide behind
If we all started over with just one new decision
That was made for the sake of or in spite of my living here
And for all I know now I will question the truth
From the meaning I’ve found for all that I can do

When the sun shines today
And God is in the garden
As I lie awake and dream of another life

Love For What’s Real

I face this horizon with the sun coming up turns the sky into rust
I’m still in this mine pushing numbers and lines but I work cuz I must
And history yields to a conscience that one sacrifice is enough
And the blood on this page serves me right because I’ve saved up too much emptiness

And everything in, Nature has it
Everything in nature has it’s own will

Like my love for what’s real In these times I’m alone
with a heart to feel and a mind to know
And what’s left here to chance if our fates never wrong
Meant to rise up against or go along

So what if I turned towards the place in the heart that we all fear the most
Where nothing is sacred kills the sinners and saints haunts the past like a ghost
And what can they ask of you if you’re still tied to the pain from below
Where all of your life can be lost to the past in the end you will know

And everything in Nature has it
Everything in nature has it’s own will

Like my love for what’s real In these times I’m alone
with a heart to feel and a mind to know
And what’s left here to chance If our fates never wrong
Meant to rise up against or go along

For the Death of Dustin Essary

All the lullabies never called my name
And worry never solved, never solved anything

And the heart of any lie is when it’s spoken
And the truth of any lie, is when it’s someday learned from

So I lie till I believe
I’m the only one who’s jealous
Of the riches that were stole from me
And everybody dies
Am I the only one that’s nervous
Of the life their gona bleed from me

And all the stories told never showed me the way
And I never once was wrong, I never once was afraid

And the heart of any lie is when it’s spoken
The truth of any lie is when it’s someday learned from

So I lie till I believe
I’m the only one who’s honest
about the truth I’ve yet to face in me
And everybody dies
Am I the only one who’s nervous
Because nothing’s gona save me

Well I must of played a victim to the world
I’ve justified it all so many times before
As the mind will think it’s best to take control
though the master is my soul

Idle Thought

I can’t wait until now
So long ago decided
It’s deafening yet so loud
One but still divided

And if part of your soul knew the reason for this
And if I was just like you
As your spirit holds on to the things that you miss
Would you still tell me what I should do
And you’re forever alone to forever resist
And the strangest things are true
And some things you just know

A lonely audience
Waiting for this film to end
Through this awkward silence
The meaning’s surly spoken

And if part of your soul knew the reason for this
And if I was just like you
As your spirit holds on to the things that you miss
Would you still tell me what I should do
And you’re forever alone to forever resist
And the strangest things are true
And some things you just know

Built Upon the Present Regardless

Something’s the same
And some things don’t change
There’s always love
There’s always hate
There’s always my choice

It’s a feeling I know
I know it’s just a memory
Of a song I used to know
From a place I use to be
And had I known it then
That love was just a mystery
To stop the fool I must have been
To try and change what was to be

And now here I am
Another life before me
And now here I am
There must be a lesson for me

And in this cold hidden place
I sense the spirit of a man
Whose life became a hiding place
Whose life became where mine began
And in this old picture show
With every one I’ve left behind
It’s just a part of letting go
It’s just a part of love this time

And now here I am
Another life before me
And now here I am
There must be a lesson for me

And turning like the wind always back on myself
And all I’ve ever know is the broken heart of someone else
And back into the world of an empty man
And turning like the wind to try and love again

And it’s a feeling I know
I know it’s just a memory
Of a song I used to know
From a place I use to be
